Royal Mistake! Lebron James Is Impressed By The Las Vegas… Kings?!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Lebron James is lobbying hard to have an NBA franchise of his own. Not just anywhere: he wants one in Las Vegas.
In a press conference during the NBA All-Star festivities in Utah, Lebron pointed to the success that Las Vegas has had with sports. Tell us if you can find the error:
“I would love to, at some point, you know, down the road, own an NBA franchise and be able to bring a winning franchise to a city. Like I said, Vegas is a really cool city doing great things in sports these days. Obviously you see what the Aces are doing. You got the Raiders there. You got the Kings there, the hockey team. They’re doing a lot of great things down there.”
Did you catch it? He called the Golden Knights the Kings. Sacrelige.
LeBron James said he’d love to own an NBA team in Las Vegas at some point and says “Vegas is a really cool city doing great things in sports these days” but had to be corrected when he called Vegas’ NHL team the Kings.

“The Kings are in L.A., right? There’s two Kings in L.A.” pic.twitter.com/UAGW3BOCqs
This is bad. It’s even worse if you’re Lakers star Lebron James.
This is two times as bad as it could be. Not only did he confuse the Golden Knights with their hated division rivals, but he actually plays basketball in the same arena that the Los Angeles Kings play hockey.
“The Kings are in LA, right?” Lebron asked, before the line comes to him. “There’s two Kings in LA”. Woof.
We are pretty convinced the NBA to Las Vegas is a done deal. A new 20,000 seat arena that is made for the NBA is planned for the corner of Blue Diamond Road and Las Vegas Boulevard that, unlike other projects, seems to have real energy behind it. You don’t just build that without a plan.
That said, when Lebron James rolls into town he better have it right by then. Gross.
