Alleged Meadows Mall Robber Returns To Buy Hat, Gets Caught
How can a bright man not be so bright? Metro says an alleged Meadows Mall robber got himself caught after returning to the mall the next day to get a hat. It was obviously not a thinking cap.
What Did The Alleged Meadows Mall Robber Allegedly Do?
On March 10th, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports four men robbed a man while inside Meadows Mall. They beat the man with the butt of a pistol, and scrammed in a car. That guy was pretty roughed up, losing consciousness and dislocating his shoulder. He had about $200 in cash and a cell phone stolen from him.
While security cameras captured the moment, the perpetrators were not captured. Metro had a good look at the suspects though, and they were on the lookout. Turns out, they didn’t have to look very far.
How Did The Alleged Meadows Mall Robber Get Caught?
First rule of robbery: don’t return to the scene of the crime. That wasn’t abided by in this case.
23-year-old Rendell Bright returned to Meadows Mall on March 11th, one day later. He walked into a store to pickup a hat he purchased. He jotted his name down on a slip, says Metro. He was named a suspect, and then, the next day, he was found driving the gray Cadillac that was spotted in the crime.
While Metro says he was able to evade capture that day, they were able to nab one of the alleged suspects on April 4th. While he claims to know nothing about robbing the man, he did admit to beating him.
The alleged Meadows Mall robber faces several charges including robbery, battery and a charge for evading the police in that attempted traffic stop. He is expected in court later this month on April 23rd. Unfortunately, his three buddies have yet to be found by authorities.
