Watch: Is ‘Houston’s Hot Chicken’ Worth The Hype?
Move over, Popeyes. There’s a new bird in town, and it’s packing some serious heat.
Houston’s Hot Chicken has landed in Las Vegas, and it’s taking the city by storm. With three locations around the Las Vegas Valley, those who reside or find themselves near Henderson, Summerlin, or Centennial Hills have quick and easy access to the franchise. But is Houston’s Hot Chicken worth all the hype it’s received? Let’s take a look at some key categories and check out my play-by-play video below…
First Impression 👀
I walked into their Summerlin location, and the employees immediately greeted me with big smiles and warm greetings. I was shook. Most of the time during typical lunch hours, restaurant employees dish out a half hearted “Hi. Welcome.” And that’s if you’re lucky!
Smile on my face, I looked over to my right and saw a giant, super vibey mural. I’m a big “vibes” girl, and between the warm welcome I received and the vibes that mural was puttin’ off, I knew I was about to enjoy this experience whether the chicken knocked my socks off or not.
Time To GRUB 🐓
It was a difficult choice; their menu is fabulous. But I ultimately decided to go with the Original Hot Chicken sandwich. Fortunately, they let you pick your level of spice, so you don’t have to worry about setting your taste buds on fire if you’re not into that.
The meal comes with fries and their house sauce for dippin’. They also convinced me to get a frozen lemonade (as if I wasn’t gonna get one already), and they had my food out to me before I had even decided where to sit. We love speedy service!
Long story short – I will most definitely be heading back for more of that chicken and house sauce. LOVE that house sauce (peep the video). Oh! And another frozen lemonade. For sure. Don’t sleep on that lemonade!
Overall Thoughts 🤔
Two of the things I love most in life, vibes and good chicken, and very much present in the Houston’s Hot Chicken franchise. Employees were courteous and patient, the restaurant was super clean, and the hot chicken was BANGIN’.
However, it is worth noting that just like pretty much everything in current day society, the meal was a little pricey. I’m sure this has to do with inflation, and I know there is only so much business owners can do about this issue we are all facing. It’s also a HIGH quality sandwich and meal overall. Paying a little extra for better food is often worth it, in my opinion.
That said, Houston’s Hot Chicken might not be quite as famous as its Texas namesake yet, but this newcomer is definitely worth checking out! Just… watch the video. My face says it all. UNREAL.
