Anticipated Shows Of 2023 Being Affected The Writer’s Strike
Are you looking for new television shows to keep you entertained end of summer going into fall? Good luck! With the writer’s strike going on right now. Even shows we have anticipated since last year are at a standstill. It’s so sad because 2023 was off to such a strong start with the premiere of The Last of Us in January. From thrilling suspense dramas to hilarious comedies, the back half of 2023 was supposed to be awesome for shows. Let’s look at some of the most anticipated shows of 2023 that are being affected by the writer’s strike
The Boys Season 4 on Amazon Prime – Season 4 should have started at the end of 2023 but executive producer Eric Kripke has said on Twitter that The Boys season 4 would not be released until the WGA strike ended. This is definitely understandable and I respect the respect Eric and team are showing the writers.
#TheBoys update! 1) When #Season4 drops depends on how long the #WGA Strike goes. No answer yet. Tell the studios to make a fair deal!

2) To take that sting off, here's fun art from S4. We spend hours making ourselves laugh with this stuff & its never even on screen. #TheBoysTV pic.twitter.com/t9nSGmou8Z
Stranger Things Season 5 on Netflix – Season 5 will be the last season and fans can not wait for it. But we are going to have to. We were under the impression they were supposed to start filming in June of this year for a potential 2024 or even 2025 start. We are just assuming that things are going to be pushed even further back now. Season 4 part 2 was released in July of 2022.
Cobra Kai’s season 6 and final season, also on Netflix – was shut down the day the strike started. Co-creator Jon Huswitz, “Pencils down in the Cobra Kai writers room. No writers on set.” It seems to us that there will be absolutely no movement there until a deal is reached.
We hate to strike, but if we must, we strike hard. Pencils down in the Cobra Kai writers room. No writers on set. These aren't fun times, but it's unfortunately necessary. The moment a fair deal is in place, we'll get back to kicking ass. In the meantime, sending strength and… https://t.co/99UulF7HeW

One of my favorite new shows is definitely The Last of Us on HBO Max – Season 1 was released in January of 2023 and fans we so excited that it was going to be back for a second season but the second season isn’t even close to being done because of the strike.
From epic action-packed dramas to suspenseful thrillers, 2023 was promised to be a great year for television and streaming. Those are only a few of the most anticipated shows being affected by the writer’s strike. We can only cross our fingers and hope that they reach a deal soon or we will spend the entire fall and winter watching reality TV and reruns.
