The Killers At The Colosseum At Caesars Palace May Never End
Hometown rockers The Killers have been making Las Vegas proud for years now, and led a surge of rock bands from Las Vegas making their permanent mark on music. Well, The Killers at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been a success and now the band and venue are potentially keeping their beautiful union together for years to come.
The band announced their Hot Fuss residency will be returning to the venue for three shows, January 22nd, 24th and 25th. But this seems to be more a residency in the Billy Joel sense than the Donny Osmond sense.
What Do The Killers At The Colosseum And Billy Joel Have In Common?
When The Killers first started their show – the first Las Vegas Strip residency by a Las Vegas based band (which is shameful) – they had hinted that they would be interested in the Billy Joel approach to a residency.
You see, Billy Joel does his tours, but he always came back to Madison Square Garden. For 10 years, Billy Joel would absolutely pack the house at the famed New York City venue, selling out 150 shows in total. That is a feat that blows the mind, but the fans love them some Billy Joel. True fans will tell you, you need to see him in New York to get the full experience.
The Killers? Where better to see them than the city they have boasted about since their inception.
These shows will dip a toe in the water of a “here every once in a while” residency. Why not have a show a few times a season? There is no reason The Killers should ever stop playing the Las Vegas Strip!
