Woman Nearly Dies After Being Kicked By Fetus
Pregnancy is a joyous time full of carefree moments that go by in the blink of an eye.
Just kidding.
For most women, the early onset of pregnancy comes with some not-so-pleasant symptoms, such as headaches, morning sickness, and fatigue.
But after the first trimester, symptoms usually improve or dissipate altogether and being pregnant doesn’t seem so bad.
Until the third trimester comes along.
Usually, by 32 weeks the novelty of being pregnant wears off and thoughts of returning to your pre-pregnancy body return. But, you accept the weight gain, swollen ankles, and the sore back because you love your unborn baby more than anything, and you want to deliver a healthy child.
By about 35 or 36 weeks, the rib pain becomes unbearable, you can’t sleep, and you are “ready to get this baby out!” Sound about right?
Never do you imagine during your pregnancy that you could suffer a near-fatal injury caused by your unborn baby.
This was a reality for a pregnant woman in China. The woman was 35 weeks along when she started to experience stomach pain.
According to the New York Post, the woman’s pain intensified and became unbearable. A short time later, the woman started bleeding and was taken to the hospital.
An ultrasound revealed the fetus had kicked a hole in her uterus.
The woman was rushed to the operating room and an emergency C-section was performed.
A tear or rupture in the uterine wall can be life-threatening. Had the woman not gone to the hospital, she would most likely have gone into shock and died.
