LaShawn Daniels’ Memorial Service To Be Private, Invite Only
Last week, news broke that Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer LaShawn Daniels was killed in a car accident.
The songwriter and producer who has contributed to hit songs like Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough For Me,” “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” by Whitney Houston, and Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone,” among countless others, received an outpouring of love on social media from fellow artists, musicians, singers, collaborators, fans, and friends.
Over the weekend, Daniels’ wife, April Daniels, took to Instagram to announce that LaShawn’s memorial service would be private and those who received an invite could attend.
“Thank you so much for the worldwide support and outpouring of love and prayers for the loss of our beloved LaShawn. Words cannot express how it has lifted us in our time of sorrow,” read a short note with a yellow border that April posted to Instagram.
“We know there have been so many people who felt LaShawn’s impact and want to share in remembering him, but out of respect for our family, LaShawn’s memorial service is private and by the family’s invitation only. This is a solemn time for our immediate family and we wish to keep it personal,” the note continued.

The post also asserted that the press will not be allowed at the memorial service.
“To ensure privacy and sensitive nature of the occasion, no media will be in attendance and only invited guests will be included on a list managed by trusted individuals,” the note concluded.
More details regarding the songwriter’s death have also come out. CBS 42 reported that the car crash that LaShawn was involved in took place on S.C. 5 East of Rock Hill, South Carolina, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A truck that was driven by a 32-year-old named Jackie Dean Moss was involved in the tragic accident with a van that LaShawn was driving, and both vehicles caught fire. Both LaShawn and Moss died at the scene.
According to officials, a pick-up truck that driving West on South Carolina Highway 5 “traveled left of center” and hit the two vehicles that were traveling in the opposite direction.

Over the weekend, Tamar Braxton who often shared screen time with LaShawn on her WE TV reality show Tamar & Vince alongside her ex-husband, Vincent Herbert took to Instagram to share a few words about her friendship with the songwriter and producer who helped her earn a Grammy Award nomination for her single “Love and War”.
“LaShawn, I thank you. I love you. I miss you. I promise to tell Beans how funny and talented his half Godfather was,” Braxton wrote. “You were truly the best of the best. It’s been so hard these past few days…there was so much left to say, laugh and cry about. My heart aches.”
LaShawn’s wife also took Instagram over the weekend to share how much she misses her husband. “I hear you, baby. I miss this man so very much,” April wrote in the caption of a video that she shared of the songwriter singing.
She also shared another video of LaShawn singing and wrote, “My Life Will Never Be The Same,” as her caption.
