Guy Saves Big Horn Sheep From Lake Mead Mud
988 IS LIVE
There’s 911, 311 and 411, but there is a new three-digit number that could save a life. The 9-8-8 mental health crisis hotline has officially gone live nationwide. Unlike 911, 988 is not there to send emergency services to your house, but instead will connect you with a mental health counselor that can hopefully point you or someone you love to services and advice that can hopefully help save a life. The biggest issue right now – the need for counselors. Call centers are reportedly short staffed, so if you have the expertise, reach out.
NORTH LAS VEGAS AIRPORT CRASH
A sad story out of North Las Vegas, where two single engine aircraft collided mid-air over North Las Vegas airport around noon yesterday. Four people in total died in the crash – two in each plane – and the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause.
MAYHEM OVER (THANKFULLY) NOTHING
There was absolute panic on the Strip last night, due to false reports of an 'active shooter' but, by all accounts, @LVMPD officers responded to the potential threat amazingly well. pic.twitter.com/Jxb8FpsARQ

Nerves on the Strip over the weekend. Saturday night, there were reports of a shooting near MGM Grand. People were running away from the scene in a very tense scene. Turns out, thankfully, the worries were unfounded.
Reports of a shooting near the MGM tonight are unfounded. Initial reports are a glass door shattered causing a loud noise which startled people in the valet area.

BIGHORN SHEEP RESCUE AT LAKE MEAD
Finally, score one for the humans. Todd Goshorn and his wife Kelly were cruising around Lake Mead with their dog when they spotted a Big Horn Sheep. But this one was in deep – in mud, that is. The majestic creature was stuck in the muck at the lake, and Todd took it upon himself to jump into action. So they parked the boat right next to the mud bog, Todd hopped out with a rope, flung it around the big horns and started to tug.
Eventually he was able to get the exhausted animal out of the mud and on to the rest of its day, and Todd felt quite accomplished
