My Husband Wasn’t Wearing His Wedding Ring
My husband and I got married 6 years ago and since then he has lost weight and I have gained it. (That’s how it works right?) He has lost so much weight that his wedding band doesn’t fit him anymore. So he decided to get the rubber rings but he couldn’t quite get the sizing of them. (He spent more on the rubber rings than his wedding band.) If he got it to fit perfectly then it would slide off when he washed his hands or put lotion on. If he got it tight, so it wouldn’t fall off, then it would trap water and lotion underneath and irritate his finger so he took it upon himself to just stop wearing a wedding ring altogether. That wasn’t going to fly with me.
He didn’t see anything wrong with not wearing a wedding ring but I think it’s weird when people are married and don’t wear their wedding bands. We went back and forth about it for a few days. I put up an Instagram poll to see what other people thought about wedding rings and the need to wear them. The results shocked me. Over 200 people voted and it was dead even 50/50.
Some people could argue that when women see men have wedding bands on they take that as a challenge and try harder to win some attention. I have seen that done when I was a bartender. But I still believe if you are married you have to wear your ring! My parents have been married for 36 years and they have NEVER taken their rings off EVER! At the end of the day, he wears his ring. I won.
Are you married and do you wear your wedding ring every day?
