Dana White: Brady, Gronkowski Were Close To Becoming Raiders
TOM BRADY, ROB GRONKOWSKI… ALMOST RAIDERS?!
We all heard the rumors that Tom Brady was looking for houses in Las Vegas during his free agency a couple years back, before he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and inevitably won another Super Bowl. Many of us called it just that – rumors. Well… turns out it was more than just a rumor.
Over the weekend, UFC President Dana White was being interviewed by soon to be Hall Of Fame Tight End and Brady’s right hand man Rob Gronkowski and he spilled the beans. Dana was trying to facilitate both Rob and Tom’s move to Las Vegas a few years ago. There was serious interest from both, to the point where Brady was truly looking at homes in the area, but White said “Gruden blew the deal up”, and the rest is history. Brady went on to win the Super Bowl that year, and the Raiders went 8-8. Ah, what could have been.
LAS VEGAS LIGHTS HOST HUNDREDS OF NEW U.S. CITIZENS
This is a game-day promotion that’s hard to beat. 700 people from over 80 countries descended upon Cashman Center over the weekend to catch a Las Vegas Lights game, and they left as newly christened citizens of the United States. During halftime, hundreds held envelopes and American flags, stood on the field, and the ceremony was held with all taking the oath. Confetti rained down, Lee Greenwood played, and, frankly, it was pretty magical.
FIRE AFTER THE WEEKND CONCERT AT ALLEGIANT STADIUM
The Weeknd was on-fire during his set at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday night, and the fire continued to rage outside where a truck was completely engulfed in smoke just outside the stadium. Clark County Fire Department was there quickly, putting out the flames and billowing black smoke, leaving behind a charred truck in its wake. No one was hurt that we know of, but it was definitely a scene.
