Raising A Child Will Cost You Over $310,000, Says New Study
RAISING A KID CAN COST OVER $300,000
You think it’s easy raising kids nowadays? Not quite. A new study by The Brookings Institution and The Wall Street Journal has put a price tag on the cost of raising a child from birth to their 18th birthday. Are you sitting down? They estimate it’ll run $310,605. That’s over $18,000 a year. If you want a little perspective, the last time the USDA ran the numbers they estimated the cost of raising a child born in 2015 would be just north of $230,000. But inflation mucked up the works and now your 6-year-old needs to get a job, pronto.
THREE FRIENDS VISIT EVERY STATE IN 5 DAYS
If you think traveling is stressful, try what Peter, Pasha and Abdullahi just did. The trio started a trip in Vermont and traveled to every state in a record time. They hit the 48 contiguous states by car, and took to the air to visit Alaska and Hawaii, in a time of 5 days, 13 hours and 10 minutes, a full 3:10 faster than the fastest known trip taken. Is it a Guinness World Record? No. They stopped keeping track in the 90’s because they weren’t down with the high-speeds some people were driving to set the record. Still, it’s an incredible feat!
LIST OF THE MOST CHANGED NAMES IN AMERICA
Giving your child a name can be quite a stressful time. What name will be perfect for them, the way they’ll look, their personality… well, the Social Security Administration has dropped a list of the most changed, and most adopted, named in their database and it turns out one of the biggest reasons for changing a name is misspelling. Topping the list of most-changed names are Issac (with two S’s) and Chole (CHOLE?!)… with the top two of the most-adopted names being Isaac (with two A’s, otherwise known as the right way) and Chloe (which is Chole, but correct). Here’s the rest of the list:
