Las Vegas Raiders Team Up With Library For Reading Challenge
Chances are if you can read the sports page, you’ve seen enough of the Las Vegas Raiders this season. But just because they aren’t getting it done on the field doesn’t mean they aren’t doing good things in the community. They are teaming up with Las Vegas-Clark County Library District for the Winter Reading Challenge set to start next month.
How The Las Vegas Raiders Reading Challenge Works
From January 2nd through the 31st, people of any age are encouraged to read their hearts out. From 9 to 99 and all the ages in between and out of bounds. Readers have to read at least 5 hours during that time, which is about 10-11 minutes a day. You can do that easily and accomplish this reading challenge!
Keep track of what you read and when with your reading log, and if you complete the challenge by the end of the month you can bring it by your local Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branch to get a prize for your hard work.
The Las Vegas Raiders are upping the ante with a special edition Raiders library card along with t-shirts that will be among the prizes. They join the Vegas Golden Knights who also have their own cards and bookmarks in the Library District.
Special Book Reading On January 8th
The Chief Financial Officer of the Las Vegas Raiders Qiava Martinez is headed to the Whitney Library concert hall to hold a special reading of her children’s book Sports Dream. It happens January 8th at both 10:30am and 11:30am and is free to attend, first come first served.
The first 150 students to arrive will receive a free copy of the book. Plus we hear their mascot Raider Rusher will be on hand to take a photo as well!
So grab a book and start reading in the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Winter Reading Challenge. Sundays are looking pretty wide open in January.
