WATER MIGHT COST YOU MORE SOON
The Las Vegas Valley Water District is proposing new, higher rates to start at the beginning of 2023. If approved, the plan would charge you more depending on how much water you use, and depending on what season we are in. A public hearing is set for October. Earlier this year, the district tackled one of the biggest water users – golf courses – with a new plan. If approved, golf courses will have to cut their water use by more than a third. That plan alone is expected to save over 840 million gallons of water a year. Lake Mead has dropped 26 feet since February. Just a heads up, if you live in Henderson, North Las Vegas or Boulder City, this doesn’t apply to you, you’ve got a different water provider.
“STREET OUTLAWS” STAR DIES NORTH OF VEGAS
Sad news for fans of the Discovery Channel series “Street Outlaws”. One of its stars, Ryan Fellows, has died during taping for the series north of town. The series featured street races between characters and on Sunday night, Ryan was behind the wheel of his Nissan 240z when it lost control, rolled and caught fire.
A representative for Discovery Channel said “The Street Outlaws family is heartbroken by the accident that led to the tragic death of Ryan Fellows. We extend our deepest sympathy to Ryan’s loved ones as they process this sudden and devastating loss.” Ryan had a wife and two kids.
NICOLAS ROY REMAINING A GOLDEN KNIGHT
Cue “John Wick Mode”! Golden Knights forward Nicolas Roy has signed a five year contract extension to stay with the team for $3,000,000 average annual value (in other words, a year). This last season was his biggest, with career highs in games played, goals, assists and points. The Knights have one more position to fill with just over $3,000,000 to get there. Here’s hoping.
