The Beverly Theater, Las Vegas’ Newest Entertainment Venue

It has been in the works for a while and this March, The Beverly Theater becomes Las Vegas‘ newest venue for all things entertainment.

The venue is on 6th street between Clark and Bonneville and is more “Smith Center” than “casino theater”. The two story film house and performance theater has several places to entertain in different ways.

The Beverly Theater Main Theater

The main theater features 150 seats that can sit those looking for a a premiere of an indie film. This is, after all, Las Vegas’ only indie film house.

Then, with a push of a button, the stadium-esque seating can be whisked away to allow for more room for live and experiential performances. The theater features a booming sound system that is finely tuned for the room acoustically.

The Beverly Theater also features a terrace featuring an L-shaped bar with wine and beer options called “Segue”. There’s also a beautiful courtyard that will surely play host to charity events for years to come.

The venue is yet another gift to the arts scene of the city. Named after Beverly Rogers of The Rogers Foundation, the 14,306 square foot venue is bound to make jaws drop.

What is in store for opening week?

  • FRIDAY, MARCH 3TH – Lights, Camera, Action
    The festivities begin with a red-carpet opening night, where The Beverly Theater will be screening Past Lives, a Sundance-screened film from Korea. (These are the type of films you won’t typically find at your local AMC). After the movie, the film’s producers will be on-hand for an audience Q&A.
  • SATURDAY, MARCH 4TH & SUNDAY, MARCH 5TH – A Flick And It’s Lit
    A totally free and open to the public event! The Writer’s Block (an independent bookstore) join forces with the Black Mountain Institute for programming that includes readings, question and answer sessions with authors, a movie screening and more.
  • TUESDAY, MARCH 7TH – The Beverly Theater Goes Live With EKOH
    Homegrown talent Ekoh takes to the main theater for a musical performance!

This is a huge feather in the cap of Downtown. There will be events a-plenty over the years to come, and if you’re looking to check out the venue for yourself, visit TheBeverlyTheater.com. Events (even the free ones) require an RSVP, so reserve your spot. If the venue is half as good as their Chief Experience Officer Kip Kelly‘s twitter account, it’s going to be fantastic.

Top 15 Will Ferrell Movies

Will Ferrell is one of many people’s all-time favorite actors. Will started his career as a cast member of SNL (Saturday Night Live) in the 90s. And he was declared in the beginning, to be, quite possibly, the worst cast member ever during his first season. But his impersonations and range of characters made him arguably the greatest Saturday Night Live cast member ever! During his seven year run, he is one of the few cast members to ever be nominated for an Emmy for a performance and played during the 2000 elections when he played George W. Bush. 

Will was a cast member from 1995-2002 and during that time he appeared in several movies like Austin Powers, A Night at the Roxbury, Superstar, Zoolander, The Ladies Man, and more.  

Will was drawing laughs from people even in school. When he would do the high school announcements he would do them in different voices. After high school, he attended USC in LA and studied sports journalism. That is why you see him make appearances on ESPN and other sports broadcasts.

Will’s real name is John Wiliam Ferrell. Not sure when he started going by his middle name but I’m glad he does. He doesn’t look like  John to me.

Will has countless movies under his belt. He has been in at least 59 movies and we tried our hardest to boil it down to Will Ferrell’s top 15 movies. It was difficult but we narrowed them down and I hope you agree with our number pick.
