Jim Irsay is best known as the owner and CEO of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. However, what many people don’t know is that he has also been collecting items that tell the story of rock music, American history, pop culture and sports since his teenage years. His collection includes musical instruments used by some of the greatest musicians of all time—like Kurt Cobain’s 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic-electric guitar, and personal belongings such as Elvis Presley’s sunglasses. It’s no wonder why his collection has received worldwide recognition for its remarkable scope and quality.

Aimee Thomas is the morning show co-host of Aimee + Shawn on 102.7 VGS. She has been VGS since the birth of the station in 2022 and has been with Beasley Media Group for nine years doing mornings at various stations in the cluster. Before working in radio Aimee was a bartender at a local restaurant in Las Vegas when a local radio veteran thought she would be perfect in radio because of her crazy stories, knowledge of pop culture, and contagious laugh. We all know Miley Cyrus, but did you know that her real name is Destiny? That’s right. She changed it back in 2008. She told NBC, “My birth name is Destiny. My family nicknamed me ‘Smiley’ because I smiled so much. I liked it so much, I changed my name to Miley, a shortened version of it”

But Miley isn’t the only celebrity who has made a change to their given name; there are many others who have gone by something different than what was printed on their birth certificate.

John Legend has become somewhat of a household name (and deservedly so!), but before he made it big his name was actually John Stephens. However, since he started singing as a child he had always gone by his first two initials – JN – or John Novacane (a play on the word Novocaine). Later on, those initials morphed into John Legend.

Dwayne Johnson – We all know him as The Rock now, but Dwayne Johnson actually used to go by another nickname during his wrestling days–his ring name being Rocky Maivia (which is composed of both his father and grandfather’s names). However, once fans started calling him The Rock for short fans caught on quickly and ended up adopting this shorter version as his official nickname.
