More Lane Closures Expected Along F1 Las Vegas Race Route
You know what is better than having rolling lane closures for a while? Having them again! Yes, F1 Las Vegas is right around the corner and while they are busy strong-arming businesses along the route, paving crews are going to be busy re-paving areas they’ve already paved!
No, it’s not your imagination. The paving project has been going for quite a while. As a matter of fact, they are almost done with their initial pass! But just like F1 itself, there is always more than one lap.
F1 Las Vegas “final” paving schedule
If you have to drive anywhere along the resort corridor and race route, you’ll want to know the deal. The county has done a decent job of updating their website with PDFs… but PDFs are painful. So, read this instead:
- Monday, July 31st through Friday, August 4th: lane closures on Sands Avenue between Sphere and the Strip.
- Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th: lane closures on the Strip between TI and Bellagio
- Monday, August 14th through Friday, August 18th: lane closures on the Strip between Bellagio and The Cosmopolitan
- Monday, August 21st through Friday, August 25th: lane closures on Harmon Avenue between Planet Hollywood and Koval Lane
Thankfully that should nearly wrap up paving operations for the public roads. From there, final paving operations should continue on to the F1 Paddock site at Koval and Harmon and around the Sphere property. The final stretch of Koval between the two will get a last pass in October.
This will all be worth it – we think
This is a massive pain but it comes with perks. The largest of which is the expected financial impact to the area expected to go north of a billion dollars! Of course, you won’t be seeing that money. You’ve been busy driving to Primm trying to get your own billion. Well at least the F1 money is going to education. Oh, it’s not. Then nevermind.
