See Jupiter And The Crescent Moon “Kiss” Tonight
Tonight the sky over Las Vegas will host a pretty cool event. Now listen, I’m not crazy into space stuff but this is just so cool and too perfect of timing… Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, will appear to embrace the crescent moon in what astronomers also use the term “kiss.” Legend has it that tonight when you look up and see it will symbolize growth, healing, and good fortune. They promise it’s going to be a pretty breathtaking site. You can see it with the naked eye but obviously using binoculars will help your chances of seeing it better.
The convergence of Jupiter and the moon in the evening sky is rare but so beautiful. While both are millions of miles apart in reality, from our viewpoint here on good ol Earth, they will seem to come close together, creating what looks like a kiss.
For those in Las Vegas excited to see the “kiss” between Jupiter and the moon it will happen about an hour after sunset, (and the sun sets at 5:21 pm tonight) this will be the perfect time to check it out. Now, it is kind of cloudy today so it may be hard for some but I hope we are able to see this. Before you head home tonight stop and grab binoculars if you don’t have any to better your chances of the cool sight.
How perfect is this that it is happening on Valentine’s Day? It is honestly just too perfect.
Tonight as the sun is dipping down to go to sleep and the stars start to come out make sure you be on the lookout for Jupiter to confess his love and admiration for the crescent moon and give her a quick Valentine’s Day kiss. We all can make up our own stories about their relationship right?
