Oakland A’s Donate $200,000 To Nevada Youth Sports
There has been a whole lot of talk about the A’s recently. No matter how you feel about the Oakland A’s coming to Las Vegas, you can’t deny that they’re a charitable organization. It’s just been announced that the Oakland A’s have made a very generous donation to youth sports in their future home state of Nevada.
Oakland A’s Youth Sports Donation
When we think of a charitable donation, the number we envision can range greatly. It could be something small (but still helpful), or it could be a great sum.
However, the Oakland A’s went above and beyond by donating a whopping $200,000 to over 70 youth sports leagues across Nevada. How amazing is that?
The donation was made to help numerous softball groups with field maintenance, team equipment, and more. According to News 3, Oakland A’s President, Dave Kaval, said, “We are eager to continue engaging with the Nevada community and expand our commitment to supporting youth baseball and softball, education, and civic engagement.”
Coming Soon: Oakland A’s Take On Las Vegas
The news of this very generous donation comes just after the news that a Las Vegas Strip property, the Tropicana, will be destroyed.
What do these two things have to do with each other? Well, the Oakland A’s move to Las Vegas will be happening in the coming years, with their first season in Las Vegas projected to start in 2028.
That first season will allegedly be played at a brand new stadium built on the current site of the Tropicana. While we hate to see the Tropicana go, we can’t help but wonder if the new dream stadium will actually be constructed in that location.
Whether you’re a fan of the A’s coming to town or not, Nevada can’t help but be thankful for their kind donation to youth sports and their definite support of young ball players in their soon-to-be new home.
