Free Books For Kids In Las Vegas Through Age 5 – Here’s How
The early, formative years are the most important when it comes to getting our kids to read. A local non-profit is offering free books for kids in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada in the mail every month from birth through age 5. Rich or poor, it doesn’t matter. Sounds too good to be true right? It’s not.
Free Books For Kids In Las Vegas Are A Web Form Away
The non-profit Storied Inc. teamed up with a national non-profit to be able to offer up the books, completely free to the family. Simply visit the StoriedKids.org website and click “Register My Child”.
From there, the only “eligibility” is making sure you live in Southern Nevada and your child is under 5 years of age. Believe it or not, that is it. From there, expect to open that mailbox once a month with a crisp, age-appropriate book for your little one. No need to send a tax form or financial eligibility requirements. You can live near Nellis. You can live in The Ridges. Every child deserves the chance to read.
Amazing Free Book Program Thanks To… Dolly Parton?!
As if you needed another reason to love Dolly Parton, here ya go.
The program is related to Dolly’s non-profit Imagination Library. They have been doing this program for years! Thankfully, a handful of kindhearted locals (full disclosure, I am one of the non-profit’s unpaid board members) got together to finally get an Imagination Library program in Southern Nevada. Now free books for kids in Las Vegas are simply a web form away.
There is no local warehouse full of books, which means the overhead for Storied Inc. is incredibly low. Instead, the form talks directly to Dolly’s organization who sends the books straight off to you.
So get your kid signed up today! And if you believe in the cause of reading at a young age, consider donating to Storied Inc. With very little overhead, much of the money raised goes towards being able to pay for the postage and books for future children to be given the same opportunity.
