Michele Fiore Has Been Indicted, Accused Of Unthinkable
Former Las Vegas councilwoman Michele Fiore is known for many things. Locally, the firebrand Republican might be best known for her failed campaign for Governor or for being accused of getting in a hair-pulling, violent fight with fellow councilwoman Victoria Seaman. Nationally, she is likely best known for her glamorous photos holding firearms in a gun calendar. Now, Michele Fiore has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
If the accusations are true, Michele will be known for this most of all.
Michele Fiore Has Been Indicted On Wire Fraud Charge Involving Fallen Officers Memorial
On June 8th, 2014, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo were eating at Cici’s Pizza when a gunman entered and murdered both of them in cold blood. He went next door and murdered a civilian at Walmart before meeting his end. The story rocked the community.
Michele Fiore, now serving as a Justice Of The Peace in Pahrump (despite not having a law degree), was behind the effort to have a statue made for Officer Beck that would be the part of a park dedicated in his name.
She raised money for the project, but the Department of Justice is accusing Fiore of spending over $70,000 on herself and her daughter.
Department Of Justice Lays Out Their Case In A Statement
A statement from the DOJ explains why Michele Fiore has been indicted.
“Fiore did not use any of the tens of thousands of dollars in charitable donations for the statue of the fallen officer and instead converted the money to her personal use. The donations were used to pay her political fundraising bills and rent and were transferred to family members, including to pay for her daughter’s wedding.”
Michele Fiore hasn’t responded to the allegations, nor has her attorney. But the allegations are damning. She will need to defend herself in federal court and be armed to the teeth. Legally, of course.
