Las Vegas Aces Pick Up Two-Time Champ Candace Parker
The Las Vegas Aces still aren’t talking about the accusations from recently traded forward Dearica Hamby. However, they are letting their acquisitions do the talking – and they just said a lot.
In a post on Instagram, Chicago Sky star Candace Parker broke the news that she would be departing The Windy City for Las Vegas.
After evaluating the landscape together with my family, we’ve decided the Las Vegas Aces are the right organization for us at this point in our lives.
I’m forever appreciative of everyone in Chicago – our fans, teammates, coaches, and ownership. But more than the past two seasons, I’m thankful to the city that raised me, the childhood friends I still have to this day, the teachers I still am learning from, and the moments in time that will forever be in my heart.
While Chicago will always be my home, my family’s home is on the west coast.
To play for a championship close to home is the perfect situation for us. I’m looking forward to continuing the journey this summer in Las Vegas ♠️
The 36 year old forward has put up big numbers in her 15 season career, averaging 16.4 points per game, along with 8.6 rebounds and 4 assists. While the last four seasons have cooled off scoring wise, she is still considered among the best in the league.
Parker won the WNBA Championship for the Los Angeles Sparks in 2016, and again in Chicago in 2021. She’ll be joining an already stacked Las Vegas Aces lineup that looks to be a sure favorite for the 2023 WNBA Championship.
Does Las Vegas have its first dynasty on their hands? Only time will tell. But with this lineup, there’s no telling what the limit is.
