Video Shows Aftermath After Car Ran Through Las Vegas Home
When you buy a home in a relatively quiet neighborhood, you’re not preparing for a car to come barreling through it. Well, that’s exactly what happened to the Las Vegas rental property owned by Rose Han. Now she’s showing video of the aftermath and the insurance nightmare that awaits her.
On Wednesday, April 5th, a driver was barreling through a subdivision near Tenaya and Smoke Ranch at speeds near 100 miles an hour. The family inside of 7200 Chesterton Drive was thankfully not in the kitchen when an SUV driven by 51 year old Albert Murkison slammed into the home with a passenger in tow.
The accident was so severe that the driver and his passenger had to be hospitalized. Albert was later arrested for driving beyond recklessly, being high on PCP and leaving the scene of the accident.
What happened to the Las Vegas home after the car ran through it?
This home was Rose Han’s first rental property, her biggest investment. “For an entire year and a half, it was great,” Han said of homeownership. That was until the YouTuber and vanlifer got a text she never wanted to see.
The tenants of the property reached out to Rose after the crash and she couldn’t believe her eyes.
A massive SUV smashed a gargantuan hole in the side of her home. The kitchen was destroyed. Part of the 2nd floor collapsed onto the SUV. The home was deemed unsafe and boarded up, meaning she had to refund her tenants.
It’s OK… insurance will take care of it. Right? Well, not entirely.
Turns out her insurance was not all it was cracked up to be, and she’ll be left on the hook for repairs far and beyond what they are willing to pay. Imagine, you pour everything you’ve got into a home, and a reckless (and idiotic) driver smashes your plan to bits. Thankfully her property manager has helped her through the process and is helping her get it repaired without sending her into the poor house.
So often you see headlines like this, but you never see what comes after the shocking security footage. Well, here it is. It’s not pretty, but Rose seems pretty resilient and amazing. We are rooting for you, Rose!
