This face is seared into the minds of so many Las Vegas pet lovers. Now the alleged Reba the bulldog killer has his day in court, with another as well.
LVMPDIt was a story that caused anger throughout the Las Vegas valley. The outright attempted (and eventual) murder of a dog that was shoved in a plastic tote that was taped shut on an incredibly hot summer day. Well, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say they have their alleged Reba the bulldog killer and another as well, and today they were hauled into court.
32 year old Issac Laushall Jr and 30 year old Markeisha Foster were present in a Las Vegas court earlier today. Laushall, the alleged Reba the bulldog killer, was denied bail during the hearing and is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center. Foster is also being held at Clark County Detention Center, as she has yet to post her $50,000 bail.
Both are being charged with willful, malicious, torture, maiming and/or killing of a dog, cat or animal. No word as to whether Laushall will see a bail granted to him at a future date.
How Metro Says Reba The Bulldog Killer Did It
On July 26th, a black plastic tote with a red cover was discovered inside a dumpster behind the Vons grocery store on East Twain Avenue. Temperatures on that day were flirting with the 110s. Terrible weather for any pet, but one that is trapped in a locked and unventilated tote? Forget about it.
The dog was found and rushed to a local animal hospital who tried to render aide to the suffering dog. Naming the dog "Reba," they did what they could for the pup but the heat stroke the dog suffered was too much. She died on July 28th.
Animal lovers throughout the valley rallied to find the Reba the bulldog killer. Tens of thousands of dollars were offered up for rewards to get a lead that would get an arrest in the case. It inevitably took five months to eventually find the pair involved.
The Las Vegas valley is filled with some absolute animal lovers who put it all on the line for their four legged friends. Sadly it is also rife with the worst of the worst who continue to put the valley in a terrible light. Here's hoping there is indeed justice in the case.
Paws In The Park 2024: Another Barktastic Year Of Furry Friends [GALLERY]
Paws in the Park was an amazing day of animal welfare, loving your furry friends and celebrating animals of all kinds.
Hundreds of dogs were adopted during our Paws in the Park event, and we want to thank all of the nonprofits involved with this year's event. The event took place on Saturday at Desert Breeze Park. Thank you to our title sponsor Southern Nevada Chevy Dealers in sub-port with Port of Subs for making this event free and fun for all.
Paws in the Park Had The Cutest Contests + Doxie Races
Paws in the Park had a stream of vendors, artisanal craft makers and amazing artists from our local community. Along with these stellar vendors, we also had amazing pet contests that brought the cutest and fluffiest pets from all over the valley.
The first pet contest was the "Owner Look-a-Like Contest." The winner of that contest was a Cane Corso, Milo, who looked very similar to his owner. The Cane Corso was black with a streak of white across his belly. The owner was also donning a black outfit with a perfectly black beard that made him resemble his dog in an uncanny manner.
The next contest was the Cutest Pet Contest. It wasn't easy to choose a winner because all of the entrants were so fluffy and adorable. However, the winner of this contest was a teacup pomeranian named Snowball.
Snowball was a tiny and fluffy pom that was pure white. He was so tiny yet mighty.
The next contest was "most unique pet." A giant rust-colored Pitbull took the gold in this competition. And the last contest to end the day was "best dressed" pet. The winner of this contest was actually a pair of dogs! The winners were a King Charles Spaniel, who was dressed as the Mad Hatter, and a Yorkie, who was dressed as the Queen of Hearts.
It was a lovely day of loving our animals in Las Vegas. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this year's Paws in the Park an unforgettable memory. Thank you again to Southern Nevada Chevy Dealers in sub-port with Port of Subs for another stellar year. Scroll down below to see photos from this year's Paws in the Park!
