Henderson Symphony Orchestra To Perform ‘Star Wars’ Film Score – LIVE!
There is something so powerful about music in film, and no collection of films shares a more incredible connection than Star Wars. The moment that John William’s main theme to the franchise kicks off, with opening titles scrolling up the screen, you know you’re about to blast off to a galaxy far, far away.
Thankfully, you won’t have to travel nearly as far to experience the magic of movie music live. The Henderson Symphony Orchestra just announced that they will be performing the score to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back live to a packed house at The Dollar Loan Center on, of all days, May the 4th (it’s a Thursday night).
Now, this is not just a night at the orchestra. This is a full screening of the movie. The orchestra will be playing right along with the film and helping Star Wars fans experience the film in a whole new way. Led by conductor Alexandra Arrieche, the HSO will perform every minute of the over 2 hour film’s brilliant score.
Seeing Star Wars music performed live to the film is a special treat
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Certain movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Back To The Future have gotten the same treatment in years past. (Author’s note: I was at the Hollywood Bowl in 2015 to see the LA Philharmonic perform the live score to Back To The Future – one of my favorite movies – and it was such an incredible experience. I cannot stress this to you enough, if you love Star Wars you must go.)
So get dressed up as Leia, Luke or a Wookie and get ready for an amazing night of music set to an amazing movie. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 24th at 10am on The Dollar Loan Center website.
