Nickelodeon, CBS Sports Announce Las Vegas Super Bowl Alternate Telecast
Ah, you’ve gotta love the Super Bowl. All of the super fun watch parties, the incredible football played between the final two teams, the magnificent commercials that grace our screens and touch our hearts, and… Slime? That’s right… SLIME!
It has officially been announced that Nickelodeon and CBS Sports have officially teamed up to create history during the upcoming Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
This Nickelodeon Super Bowl telecast is historic
For the first time in the history of the major sporting event, Super Bowl LVIII will broadcast as an alternate telecast on another network. That lucky network is none other than the kid-centric broadcast giant, Nickelodeon. Super Bowl LVIII, which will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024, will mark the first time that a Super Bowl has aired on Nickelodeon, according to the NFL. But the network has actually worked with the NFL on numerous occasions in the past, having aired two previous NFL playoff games in the past in a similar fashion.
What will the Nickelodeon Super Bowl telecast really look like?
With Nickelodeon involved in the upcoming Las Vegas Super Bowl, you know what that means… A whole lot of slime and a whole lot of super silly fun for kids (and adults, we don’t judge) during the big game! According to the NFL, “The Nickelodeon presentations — which feature eye-popping graphics that feature slime-filled end zones or SpongeBob SquarePants between the goalposts on field-goal attempts — have also received plenty of acclaim for its ability to introduce a younger age group to the basics of the game but also focused on the action happening on the field to keep parents interested.”
Who will be able to watch the alternate telecast?
If you’re not in North America and you want to watch this epic, historic, slime-filled Super Bowl, you may just be in luck! The Nickelodeon telecast of Super Bowl LVIII will also be aired in a few additional countries, but unfortunately, it will be delayed. But hey! We’ll take what we can get. Those in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand are in luck, but hopefully more countries will be added to that list as we inch closer to the historic Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
