Free Pre-K Program In Las Vegas Now Registering New Students

Are you considering signing your young child up for Pre-K? A free, local Las Vegas academy has offically opened registration.

And just like that, summer is coming to an close and school is back in session. But what about your preschool aged kiddos? As a parent, you want to give your child the best start in life, and one way to do that is by enrolling them in a pre-kindergarten program. Fortunately for Las Vegas parents, registration for a local, free Pre-K program in now open for the upcoming school year!

The Las Vegas Strong Start Go Mobile Pre-K Academy has announced that parents may now apply for their Pre-K aged children to attend the school. Not only is the academy free of cost, but did we mention it is on wheels? That’s right – the City of Las Vegas is offering local Las Vegas kids the chance to learn on an actual school bus!

According to News 3, the Las Vegas Strong Start Go Mobile Pre-K Academy “provides half-day, pre-kindergarten classes with family engagement workshops and activities for children ages 3-5.”

There are two half-day sessions offered for parents to choose from. For those needing to drop-off and pick-up their child (or children) early, parents may opt for the 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. instruction time. For those needing a later start and end time, a 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. instruction time is also offered.

For those located on various sides of the Las Vegas Valley, the Las Vegas Strong Start Go Mobile Pre-K Academy will offer two various instruction locations for parents to choose from, not only making your child’s Pre-K instruction beneficial but also convenient! Choose between their set-ups at the Chuck Minker Sports Complex at 275 N. Mojave Road or the Historic Westside School at 330 W. Washington Ave.

On the fence about enrolling your child in Pre-K? Don’t be! Pre-K offers numerous benefits for your child’s development and success. From the development of crucial socialization skills to providing a strong foundation in early literacy and math skills and so much more, Pre-K programs can help your child start off their academic journey ahead of the game.

Happy 'National School Pictures Day' From 102.7 VGS (PICTURES)

I’m telling you, these random national holidays get more and more fun as we shred through the year. Today is National School Pictures Day! Aka a day to share and celebrate all of the super cute, sometimes funny, nearly always awkward school pictures we all endured and will carry with us for the rest of our lives.

According to National Today, “National school photography provider Lifetouch declared the first-ever National School Picture Day happening on the second Thursday of September in 2019.” It’s always during the second week of September so that the holiday always falls right at the beginning of school. The day always hits right around the time that schools are scheduling their official picture days. I know my former elementary school was one of those schools that had their picture day today for the students. I think that’s such an exciting way to celebrate the festivities with current students as well. They deserve to celebrate this holiday too!

Yanno, I think (most) all of us can agree that looking back on our early days as a student, it didn’t necessarily matter the grades we made. What really ended up mattering is how brutal our school pictures turned out. Because those suckers… they somehow really do stick by your side for the rest of your life. Like glue. They’re always there, and they always come back to haunt you. The good ones AND the bad ones. But I suppose that’s what makes the reminiscing so enjoyable.

But this holiday is such a fun way to share the sides of ourselves from years past, back when we were mere kiddos. It’s a cool way to share a glimpse into our days as students!     Aimee's Football Picks Of The Week

    Being born and raised in New York I have been a New York Giants fan my whole life but I didn’t know anything about any other teams until I became an adult.

    When I met my husband every Sunday was a football day… all day. I decided if I wanted to hang out with him and actually enjoy it I had to know more about all of the teams and not just the Giants.

    I was a bartender at the time and would ask all of the big betters that I would take care of who their #1 pick of the week was, then I would put them all together and bet a 6pt 5-team parlay. It was a win-win (most weeks) I got to hang out with my husband during the football days and won a few bucks here and there.
