Vegas Airport Offering Marriage Licenses For New Year’s Eve
When people think about a quickie marriage, Las Vegas is the first place that comes to mind.
Sin City is known for many things around the globe. Including those little white chapels on the Las Vegas strip offering a fast marriage to tourists. But it’s usually just the wedding ceremony part that is quick. Even more so now that we have those convenient drive-thru weddings. Getting a marriage license, on the other hand, takes a bit longer.
Well, soon couples will be able to get their marriage license while they wait for their luggage at the Las Vegas airport.
New Year’s Eve this year is expected to be very busy in the world of eloping. Anyone who gets married on December 31, 2023 will have the wedding date 12/31/23. And apparently 1-2-3-1-2-3 is a desirable sequence when it comes to anniversaries.
Even more desirable is not having to schlep over to downtown Las Vegas to get a marriage license. Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya is going to open a pop-up Marriage License Bureau at Harry Reid International Airport to help out with this year’s expected rush. The pop-up bureau will be open Tuesday, December 26 through Sunday, December 31. It will be near the baggage claim in Terminal 1 from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The pop-up shop will issue marriage licenses as well as vow renewal certificates. And people will have the option to pay with debit or credit cards. This is the fifth year that Goya has done the pop-up bureau. Which allows couples to spend less time worrying about logistics of their magical New Year’s wedding trip. And more time enjoying all that Las Vegas has to offer for the holiday season.
And to make the process even quicker, couples can fill out a marriage license pre-application. Which can be found on the County Clerkās website at weddings.vegas.
