Durango Casino Seeking Employees Before November Opening
After nearly two decades of teasing it. After over a year of building it. At long last! Station Casinos’ newest property, Durango Casino is ready to swing open its doors on November 20th. So it goes without saying they’re going to need some employees in time for the grand opening!
The property is set to feature a high end pool, resort-level accommodations, a state of the art sports book and a slot or two. There’ll also be an amazing food hall called “Eat Your Heart Out” that will have foodies drooling from day one.
In an incredibly well produced promo video on GetAJobAtDurango.com, Station Casinos is touting why they are a great place to work.
Among the perks they say you can expect as a Durango employee:
- Free healthcare
- Advancement opportunities
- Paid company retirement
- Medical and dental centers
What kind of positions does Durango Casino have open?
As of publication, over 140 jobs are up for grabs on the Durango employment website. Everything from the assistant general manager for a steakhouse to servers, sprinters and bussers. Catering managers to porters. Assistant managers for room service to room service chefs and servers. Of course dealers are needed as well. The biggest gig we can find on the page is the Hotel Manager position. Chances are they will promote from within from other properties whose employees live in the neighborhood. In total, over 1,000 job vacancies will need filling.
It’s also worth noting that Station Casinos has their own dealer’s school program that not only pays you to go, but when you pass the course you have a full-time position waiting for you at the end of your education!
Unfortunately there are no positions in the bowling center or movie theater. They don’t exist. Although rumor has it there will be a second phase of building at Durango that could include those. Here’s hoping, as the southwest is super underserved when it comes to both entertainment options.
