Hit The Slopes! Lee Canyon Opens More Trails And Kids Go Free
It has been a pretty barren winter so far. Or at least it had been until Wednesday. A weather system swung through the valley, dumping rain in the valley and snow up in the mountains. Not only is it a pretty sight, it’s a welcomed sight to Lee Canyon! The ski and snowboard resort are opening more trails today.
The resort announced it officially got 16 inches of fresh snow. What this means is the Bluebird quad chairlift is open and people can head up to the intermediate and advanced trails. Before this, only the bunny slope was open. Not to mention it had been so warm that it wasn’t necessarily the best quality snow. If you didn’t know, December 2023 ended up being the warmest on record in the Las Vegas area. Not good.
Kids can ski free on Lee Canyon
Want to get your kids into skiing and snowboarding, but are a bit iffy on the cost? You’re in luck! Lee Canyon and its affiliated resorts (including Brian Head) are offering up a “Power Kids Pass” for the first time this year!
The pass gets kids 12 and under free access to the mountain to ski and snowboard their brains out! There’s no purchase required. They can go any day of the season. It’s pretty incredible actually! A cool way to get your kid into something new at a price that’s right. You can’t beat free!
Big upgrades after Hilary
When Hurricane Hilary swept through Southern Nevada, Mount Charleston got absolutely leveled. Lee Canyon didn’t escape as a lot of their infrastructure and trails were affected. The storm cut their summer activities short, but the resort doubled down. They invested $7 million in improvements to the resort, including 450 new parking spots and a new Ponderosa quad chairlift.
If you’ll excuse us, we are headed to the slopes. To ski though. Snowboarding bruises our ass too much.
