Achtung! Interactive U2 Experience Coming To The Venetian
Could you pick a better band to open the multi-billion dollar Sphere venue than U2? We think not. This will be a show like Las Vegas has never seen before, and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is playing the perfect neighbor with the ultimate experience for fans!
Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience plans on being the epicenter for U2 fans pre- and post-show. The project is a collaboration between the band, their creative director Gavin Friday and Vibee, according to the press release. The over 12,000 square foot venue will feature two stories of stories, exclusive merch and imagery.
The second floor of the venue will feature a cozy theater that will feature film screenings throughout the day. Everything from original documentaries to unreleased concert footage and more! It is cozy so expect tickets to go as fast as the main affair next door at the Sphere. If you shell out some coin, people that spring for the Vibee VIP package will get free tickets for each screening through the day.
Zoo Station opens at The Venetian on September 28th and is expected to stay open through November 4th. It will re-open December 1st through December 16th. The schedule coincides with the band’s shows at the Sphere. Visit the website for more details.
What is “Zoo Station” and what does it have to do with this U2 experience?
Listen carefully if you are not Bono-inclined. This is a U2 history lesson.
“Zoo Station” is the first track on the album Achtung Baby. U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere is the name of their shows next door. So, there’s the direct connection.
The song was considered transformative for the sound of the band, according to SongTell. The song seizes the moment and takes the band in a different direction from their past tracks to a new era. Their shows at Sphere are certainly marking a new era for the band that hasn’t stopped rocking as far back as 1976. Nearly 50 years later, and they are still transforming.
